1997...known primarily as blocker, Hartley set career
highs with 19 receptions, 246 receiving yards, 12.9 average and long of 35
in 1997...one touchdown catch also tied his personal career-high...set single-game
highs with four catches for 54 yards Game 15 versus Kansas City Dec. 14...had
career-long 35-yard reception Game 5 versus Baltimore Sept. 28...had third-career
touchdown catch versus Indianapolis Oct. 26.
1996
Played on special teams and short yardage in "Jumbo"
goal line package...On inactive list with a knee injury first eight games.
1995
Frank finished the season with 11 receptions for 137
yards, with 13 starts in a double tight end
formation. Caught a 15-yard pass in finale at Jacksonville
(12/24). Opened scoring with a one-yard TD reception in the Browns 26-10
win vs. Cinc. (12/17). Also caught a 20-yarder. Played but did not start
at S.D. (12/3). Had two receptions for 27 yards, including a 22-yarder on
a third-and-three to convert a first down at the end of the third quarter,
which led to Clevelands first touchdown. Started in tow tight end set in
29-26 overtime win at Cincinnati (10/29), but did not have a catch. Helped
pave way for 480 net yards, 179 on the ground. Started in two tight end set
vs. Jacksonville (10/22), and had a 11-yard catch. On inactive list at Det.
(10/8). Grabbed at three-yard pass in the Browns 35-17 win vs. K.C. (9/24),
a 12-yard catch in 14-7 win at Houston (9/17) and caught two key passes for
25 yards in 22-6 win vs. Tampa Bay (9/10). Also had an apparent one-yard
TD catch nullified vs. Bucs, as officials ruled him out of bounds in the
second quarter. Caught career-long 23-yard pass in opener at N.E. (9/3).
