Calvin Murray gained valuable experience as the leading rusher for the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe in 2005. The Thunder posted the league’s best record at 7-3 before falling to Amsterdam in World Bowl XIII. Calvin started all 10 games for the Thunder and was NFLE’s sixth-leading rusher, racking up 487 yards and two scores on 124 carries. He also tied as the team’s third-leading receiver, catching 18 passes for 166 yards and two more touchdowns. His father, Calvin, played running back for Philadelphia Eagles from 1981-82 and was selected in the fourth round of the ’81 NFL Draft, 110th overall, from Ohio State.
